Biography

Nilsu Celikel is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at MIT specializing in comparative politics and security studies. Her research interests include political violence, ethnic conflict, and civil-military relations, with a regional focus in the Middle East. Nilsu holds an MPhil in Politics with Merit from the University of Oxford and a BA in Political Science and History with Distinction from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining MIT, Nilsu worked as an intelligence analyst and led investigations on war-crimes and human rights violations for United Nations, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch.
