Biography
Xiang Chen is a PhD student in Political Science at MIT, specializing in comparative politics. She is broadly interested in questions related to state capacity, colonial legacies, and judicial politics in Sub-Saharan Africa. She holds an MPhil with Distinction in international relations from the University of Oxford, where she studied as a Rhodes Scholar, and a BA in Portuguese and Lusophone studies from Peking University.
