Geondo Kim
Biography
Geondo Kim is a Ph.D. student in Political Science at MIT, specializing in International Political Economy and Methodology. He is a recipient of the MIT Walter A. Rosenblith Presidential Fellowship. His ongoing research focuses on the historical evolution of U.S. tariff policy and the intricate politics behind it. Utilizing a big data approach, Geondo applies advanced quantitative methods to explore the political and economic dynamics that influence trade policies.
Before joining MIT, Geondo earned a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, where he served as a Research Assistant for the Chicago Project on Security & Threats. He graduated from Korea University with a BA in International Studies. As a citizen of the Republic of Korea, Geondo completed his national service in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps Headquarters Counterespionage Unit.
