Casper Keysers

Biography

Casper Keysers is a Ph.D. candidate at MIT's Department of Political Science specializing in International Relations and Security Studies. His research interests lie at the intersection of international political economy and international security. Casper is principally interested in the ways in which global technology supply chains shape the political economy of security. In a first line of inquiry, Casper develops a typology of defense technology interdependence and elite decision-making in security-related trade and investment. In a second line of work, he theorizes the connection between firms' incentives and security politics by integrating the literature on incomplete contracting and vertical firm integration with work in international security. Before joining the MIT Political Science community, Casper graduated from the University of Chicago with an MA in International Relations. He also completed an MSc in European Studies from the London School of Economics, and a BSc and MSc in Business Engineering from KU Leuven.
