Professor Noah Nathan's book The Scarce State is co-winner of the 2024 William Riker Award for Best Book in Political Economy.  

 

The award will be presented at the Political Economy Section business meeting of the American Political Science Association Annual Meeting in Philadelphia on September 6, 2024.

 

The book also will receive an Honorable Mention for the Gregory Luebbert Prize for best book in Comparative Politics at the APSA Meeting.
