MIT Political Science Associate Professor Noah Nathan

Professor Nathan, whose research focuses on electoral politics, political economy, and urban politics in Africa, earned his PhD in government from Harvard in 2016. His most recent book, The Scarce State: Inequality and Political Power in the Hinterland (Cambridge University Press, 2023), was named one of the "Best Books of 2023" by Foreign Affairs.
