MIT Election Data + Science Lab: Measuring a decade of improvements in election administration
The MIT Election Data + Science Lab (MEDSL) has released the latest iteration of the Elections Performance Index (EPI)

The MIT Election Data and Science Lab has launched the latest iteration of the Elections Performance Index, providing a nonpartisan, objective measure of state election administration from 2008-2022. Overall, the EPI shows that election management across the United States improved in the 2022 midterm election, continuing an upward trend that has continued throughout the past few iterations of the index. Using indicators that range from wait times at the polls and voter turnout to issues with absentee ballots, voter registration, or voting technology, the EPI helps voters, policymakers, and election officials compare their state with its own past performance, as well as the performance of other states. Explore the 2022 data and read the Lab’s ongoing discussion, commentary and analysis by visiting elections.mit.edu.
