Andrónico Luksic endows fellowship fund

Andrónico Luksic is the Director and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banco de Chile, Chile's second largest bank, and vice chairman of Quinenco S.A., which controls the financial and industrial investments of Grupo Luksic. Grupo Luksic was founded by the late Andrónico Luksic Abaroa in the early 1950s as a mining company and has since expanded and diversified to include banking, shipping, energy, hotels, and food and beverages. Mr. Luksic is an advocate for Chile's involvement and integration into the global marketplace and sees the support of leaders of the future as a key in this evolution.

This year, Andrónico Luksic established an endowed Fellowship Fund which helps us to achieve this goal.
The Fellowship was formed to support education and research opportunities primarily for MIT students who are citizens of Chile. Providing financial support to graduate students, the Fellowship seeks to foster the development and growth of new leaders in policy and political science.
"I am honored to provide this opportunity for scholars from Chile, to engage with and be a part of the intellectual community at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology," said Mr. Luksic. "My hope is that this fellowship will allow the next generation of leaders to use their experience gained at MIT to make significant contributions on the global stage."
