Biography

Serene Ho is a PhD student at the MIT department of Political Science specializing in Political Economy and Empirical Methods. Her research focuses on worker rights, labor upgrading, and multinational production, with a focus on the Global South.
 
Serene holds an MPA in Political and Economic Development from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Bristol, UK. Before joining MIT Political Science, she worked as a policy manager at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), where she worked to evaluate policies aimed at improving firms’ productivity and worker wellbeing. Serene is a recipient of the Walter A. Rosenblith Fellowship.
